Immediately take some precautionary measures like eliminating irritating pollutants like cigarette smoke, strong cleaner, house dust and insecticides from home environment. For a short period of time, use cough suppressants. Minor cough is also caused when your dog drinks water too fast. In this case massage its throat to lessen the symptoms.
